An Iranian woman was recently sentenced to two years in prison for publicly removing her hijab.

It took centuries to reach equality for women in the West; it was a hard journey and I am very happy we got this far.

I certainly do not want our society to lose this vital accomplishment.

I certainly do not want women to be arrested in Canada for not wearing a hijab.

To this end, we have to ensure we are able to question religious practices trickling into our secular society and how they relate to the ideals of feminism.

Criticizing an ideology is not the same as criticizing the people holding the ideology.

One can certainly respect the people but disagree with their views.

Too many people, like Professor Bruno, use emotional arguments on purpose to confuse this difference.
