Dear Mr. Seligman:
Thank you for your memorandum of November 20, 2007.
While I have noted your concerns, given the investigation process has not reached resolution, it is not appropriate for me to become involved in this
matter at this time. As to your second set of concerns, if it turns out that in Dr. Miles’s view errors in the process resulted in a judgment that is
inappropriate, he can certainly appeal.
Finally, I assure you that Brock would never undermine Dr Miles’s or anyone
else’s academic freedom.
